EQUIPMENT

For those technically savvy individuals, I have listed all the equipment used in making my music. Surprisingly, it does not take much. A tape deck and a guitar can go very far. I have added enough equipment over the past two years to start a small band.

  • 1980 Handmade acoustic Alvarez. A gift from father to son, that I shall do when I have children. Most teachers require their students to learn without any extras, and my father passionately adhered to the rule. I learned to play acoustic for two years before I was even allowed to touch an electric.
  • A piece of crap electric- AKA."Peavey Falcon!" I really need to upgrade guitars, for those that comment, "That the man, not the instrument make a performance," are true. Yet, when the instrument is always having to be repaired and cannot hold a note, it is time to move on.
  • 12 String, a generic one by Ventura. It is a status thing! Not many guitarists even have one in their collection!
  • Two amps depending on who is playing. My father and I both use a Fender half stack that was made before I was born! A fine piece of equipment that runs on vacuum tubes! Although, most of my recordings are made on a cheap 15 watt CRATE amp.
  • Fostex four channel mixing board. My compositions that contain more than one instrument could not be done without it. Sadly, it is not longer working. Future multi-track recording will be done a new computer. Waiting on that damn tax return!
  • 300 dollar Casio keyboard. That little sob set me back! Even worse, I do not use it much myself because of my inept keyboard ability.
  • 15 year old tape deck by Technic that started it all. Then I moved to the mixer Now since the mixer's demise, I have been using an Onkyo dual cassette tape deck.
  • Effects are by a cheap KORG multi-effects board. Some other tracks, I utilized a Boss delay and chorus.
  • Lastly, my 166mhz Pentium MMX. It was the fastest on the market in 1997! I still use it today in converting wavs into RA files
