Fitness Journal

This is chronicle, or dairy, of what I personally do on a daily or weekly basis. As I strive for physical contentment and a general acceptance of what I have achieved through hours of hard work at the gym; a written journal of my daily habits, struggles, lack of motivation, and personal comments will appear here. This page will be my personal motivation and has no timeline whatsoever. When I feel I need to update what I have done, or not done, I will publish my thoughts, feelings, and reactions to my own routine.

Updates:

09/04/02- Okay, it goes like this, I got in the best shape of my life, and then I slowly lost it due to college stress and life. Now, I am back working towards my goals once again, but this time, I am mentioning my fat intake because at one point I was at 13% body fat, now I am back down to 7%, thank god! For those that are on fat burners beware of the consequences as I have, because I lost a lot of mass from trying to skip the cardio with these "miracle pills," and all it did was my make my life a mess.

07/24/02- Getting fat Damnit! But the body is getting more bulk, so what is a man to do? Today I was able to lift 175 lbs for a total of five times on the bench press, not a bad feat considering I weigh 150. And yes, I still spend about two hours a day at the gym and that is without cardio!

06/17/02- After a weekend of going to the gym, an increase was due on my behalf for chest and triceps. Now, I start my bench press with my weight. Unfortunately, with the quick two week turnarounds for heavier weights for myself to bench means longer gym sessions. Two hours of gym with or without cardiovascular training has been very taxing on my social schedule and body.

06/12/02- This morning I did my workout without my customary energy pills. Needless to say, half way through the routine I became extremely fatigued. Currently I am utilizing a lot of outside supplements, something I rarely have done in the past. This past month I have supplemented my workouts with whey protein shakes, EAS light nutrition bars, glutamine pills, and energy fuel for energy. I am not going to lie, but these additions to my diet has visible results and allows me to cut back on the cardiovascular training as I spend the summer focusing on increasing muscle mass. This morning I did my normal workout in its entirety, yet I skipped only one workout, that being pull ups. Doing pull-ups three times a week without weight support is really taxing on my back muscles, yet the shape I have achieved thus far greatly benefits from doing these exercises. Cardiovascular training has been limited to only three days a week as I work on improved muscle mass and not tone.
