Items must accompany the decreased into the Afterlife to ensure the spirit has everything needed for all eternity. Objects taken from real life were placed inside the tomb. Furniture, games, precious jewelry and just about anything used in the person's real life were placed within the tomb for the spirit's own personal use. Pharaohs even had ships, chariots, treasures, and many other luxuries buried within their own tombs. Also, being the Ka is a spirit needing food and drink as their real world counterparts needed, food and drinks were left in front of their tomb for nourishment.
