Introduction
The passage into the afterlife was a serious and sacred event by Ancient Egyptians. The evolution of the preparation of the body into the afterlife was long and definitive, almost as long as the history of Egypt itself. From the Gods that ruled the afterlife to the mummification process itself, the Egyptian culture viewed death with a stern and solemn outlook. An examination of the Egyptian afterlife enhances the awareness of this past culture.
