An explanation of sorts, where in the hell have I been in almost a week? Actually this vato has been sick in bed for almost the entire duration. Rest assured, we all have a backup plan, a call to action, a surprise, an entire new outlook, a plan, and with an emphatic "YES," I will continue the art-a-day project next week and reveal my greatest works during that time. Being I am on break from college, it has been anything but a vacation, and some would say I worked myself into a weakness which led to my illness, but I need to use this week for planning and rehearsal, yes, I said rehearsal, for the events planned next week. So stays tuned, and for those that are itching for new content, why not take a stroll through the five-years plus of backlogged material on this site? Download some of my greatest music clips, themes and suite number one, or for a more hard-edged sound, triste or delay on the guitar page. Laugh at my Mariachi debut on the guitar page, or even take a glance at the cartoon sketches on the drawings page. For the intellectually bent, learn which classical composers I admire the most and read the reviews of several classical works. In need of a last minute term paper? Go to my writings page and download the paper for free! Well, hopefully you will use my papers for just a model, but as my friend E says, "To each his own." Or for those on the resolutions kick, read my resolution last year, and wait for my new one coming later in the week, and for those that want to loose a few pounds from the holidays, check out my fitness video and site. This vato is taking a vacation from the Internet and will return Sunday night. Until next week, this vato signs off and as always, send e-mails of comment, disdain, criticism, and output at damon_jasso@yahoo.com

Today's art of the day is an ode to those that have computer woes on Christmas day trying to get their new technology to work. Simply put, sometimes as a consumer we must spend a little more for a quality product and stop wasting time on useless cheap items. On that note:

Sometimes in life...

MERRY CHRISTMAS
A website featuring camera work from my new digital camera! Thanks to everyone for making Christmas 2002 one to remember! An announcement of future works, major news from the guitar page, a painting for Sandra, thanks for the supplies, more pictures from my web cam, Jerry and Vernette's finished painting, a new more accessible fitness site with an updated section on fat burners, and much more to go out with an artistic bang before 2003!

12/24/02- 8:30PM
Everyone needs a break, including me on this special day. A Christmas card for everyone in my life and for those that have supported me by visiting this site.

12/23/02- 1:30PM
A preliminary shot of my painting for Jerry and Vernette.

Jerry and Vernette's Painting- a Draft.

12/22/02- 10:30PM
My art of the day, a web site for Hector and Christie. This page will be all the pictures from the wedding complete with custom graphics and thumbnails. Click here to see the first few completed pages. Thank god for batch processing in Photoshop!

12/22/02- 7:30AM
Turn around shift for Damon! Yet, I woke up early, just got of from work at 11pm, and I thought I would upload some new pictures from Hector's Wedding. A lot of those pictures are not accessible, but those errors will be fixed tonight.

12/21/02- MIDNIGHT
A painting FOR ZACH. This work was a collaboration of my five year old niece and me. Too bad Zach has to put this on his wall, for it is not our best work; but hey, oh course he is proud of his daughter! This painting was a spur of the moment idea of Uncle and niece bonding, thank you Adrianna for spending time with your Tio!

12/20/02- 8:00PM
The 24/7 Webcam has been turned back on. It was appalling that I would receive 1200 hits from the webcam, and not even a third of those people viewed my art, hence the cam was turned off while I pondered the situation. Yet, I promised a live artist at work, so I will continue this live web cam for the duration of my ART A DAY project until New Years.

12/20/02- 1:00PM
My Christmas present to Celi and her family: A revision of Theresa's site, complete with new graphics and a translation into Spanish.
Theresa's Page

-No, I did not translate the Spanish! Thanks to Celi for the translation. This none speaking Latino wishes!-

In other news, expect a major announcement from the guitar page in the upcoming weeks!

12/19/02- 8:00AM
A new work in progress painting for myself. This one is wild to say the least and not my best work, but still has a home on the site and more pictures as this new work takes shape.

12/18/02- MIDNIGHT
One a day updates are becoming quite a challenge, yet with everyone's support, this project is still a wonderful accomplishment under this vato's belt. Today's art, unfortunately is lost, being that Kinkyo's and I never get along. Yet, rest assured it was just a simple photographic project using a slow USB scanner and some time. However, I have added another work in progress scan of my painting for Chris on the Lost ship page. For those that want something new, here is a lost logo created by me for a friend at the time.

12/17/02- 11:30AM
A new painting for Chris. This is a work in progress painting with a release date of Christmas. Once again, thanks for everyone's support of my self imposed "ART A DAY" until New Years. Check back daily for another art piece or project created by me and be patient for my explanation of such an creative undertaking on New Years Day.

12/16/02-
An old ink drawing composed around the same creative explosion of March-April. Tomorrow, some more paintings.

12/15/02-
Another poem written a few days after BRIDGE. I call this one Chance Anew.

12/14/02-
A lot of people were interested in my collection of poems written March-April of this year. Yet, I always scoffed at the idea of ever releasing them online for the intimacy of words towards the person I created them for some 9 months ago. However, Time changes a lot of things, and I still have decided against releasing them to the public for personal reasons. But I have decided to release those poems written after that infamous book as a means to cope with that part of my life and in a desperate effort to move on. Today's art of the day: BRIDGE

12/12/02- 3:30PM
FIREBIRD REDUX!
Unsatisfied with yesterday's painting, the old saying holds true- try, try, again! This time around, I have a full body phoenix bird with a stain glass background. Check it out on the For E page.

12/12/02- 2:30PM
THANKS E!
Switching gears back to painting. For my follow-up piece to my homage to Picasso, I present my artistic interpretation of the Phoenix, better known as the fire bird. Thanks for everyone's unyielding support and remember it is an update a day for this website until New Years. This vato has something to prove that will be revealed NEW YEARS DAY.

12/11/02- 3:30PM
Finally it is done. My Egyptian Final is completed and open for business. This site explains the process from start to finish on the preparation of the body, to the mummification itself, which then explains the judgment of the spirit. Feel free to offer comments and suggestions to me personally, here. I thank everyone for their support in another infamous Damon project and I look forward to my own personal challenge of "art a day" until New Years. I am going to need a vacation after this, stay tuned.

12/10/02- 3:00PM
Working on my Egyptian Final, which happens to be a website explaining the rituals and preparations of the body into the afterlife according the ancient Egyptians. Be sure to check these newest additions to my website. Expected completion, NOON tomorrow.

12/09/02- 5:00PM
I have released TWO new guitar works in an effort to keep up with my latest creative output. Check out the guitar WIP page for more details and a summary of these new works. The daily updates have BEGUN. In other news, my homage painting to Picasso was a hit in my color class.

12/08/02- 10:00PM
Finally, a more suitable webcam page. Over the next upcoming weeks, EXPECT DAILY UPDATES!It starts TOMORROW and will run well into the New Year. This artist has something to prove, and when the month is over, a thorough explanation of such a creative explosion will be revealed. Sorry for no new music this past week, it has been the first week in over a month something new has not been released. Go listen to the 45 minutes plus of new guitar works first, then complain for new works! Thanks for everyone's support and critiques of my latest batch of paintings. Until Monday...

09/27/02- 2:00PM
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MI HERMANO! Zach is the big two-five today, and let me tell you that it is all down hill from here my brother. In other news, I updated my college page with a draft of my ongoing, hellacious scissors project.

09/25/02- 10:00PM
If people have not noticed, I have been updating the artwork page quite regularly with new pieces of work. Tonight, I unveil a plan for the cover of my sketch book. I purposely picked the red against black to covertly tell the professor that I loathe drawing scissors.

09/24/02- 6:00PM
This vato breaks the silence. Several weeks ago, I became a dot.com, yet time constraints have prevented me from an adequate explanation, other than the sheer vanity of the situation, and I will explain my reasoning ahead in later weeks. Life has a sense of humor these days, and I leave my comments veiled but offer only one complaint in that returning to college, or back into strictly art classes, has been quite a challenge with life offering its full arsenal of problems along the way. Remember that no matter what obstacles occur in one's path, it is only a matter of time before problems, regardless of their origin, are overcame and conquered as the individual recovers better and more aware of their surroundings.

-DAMON JASSO

09/05/02- 10:00PM
Dealing with a mound of homework, at least it is dealing with my major. Yet, I managed to add more gradients, namely to the left and right tables on this page. A minor update, yet a more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

09/02/02- 8:00AM
Updated this page with some minor cosmetic color changes to the tables.

08/31/02- 11:00PM
Updated the date page with some forgotten photographs.

08/30/02- 5:00PM
Made a page that chronicles my new student works at college. It will be updated weekly as things happen and can be accessed here.

08/27/02- 8:00PM
This has definitely been the summer to remember for when I am an old man. I cannot thank those around me enough that have helped me accomplish every goal I have set forth on this year and I will continue to excel at my creativity for I am now in college loaded up with four art classes. Wish me luck as I create some of the finest works of my young career. In other news, I have already released several tracks from my now postponed second album to a few close friends, they all seemed to enjoy them, so at the end of this week I will release these unfinished demos to the general public.

08/21/02- 11:00AM
Released a response to my novia's own comments on why I started my Mariachi madness last month.

08/20/02- 10:00PM
Coming off my latest project, I decided that last week was a time for rest creatively and focus on my friends and family. After a week's rest, I have finally decided to green light another month long project that is a definite logical step after my attempt of learning traditional Mariachi music. Stayed tuned as the work progresses. Or visit the guitar page for further information.

08/10/02- 2:00PM
Once again, I have challenged myself with another artistic project under my belt. My Mariachi project had been completed and updated for the entire world to see my present to Ana and the steps and explanation of why I put myself through one of the most difficult creative challenges in my entire life. Next month I am just going to buy a card and some candy to express my feelings.

08/09/02- 1:00PM
The Zero hour is upon me, time for last minute rehearsal!

08/06/02- 10:00PM
People these days think I am nuts. Yet this Friday will take the cake on anything I have previously set forth on accomplishing, but it will remain a secret until it is done. This Friday night I will unveil the fruits of what I have been working on for almost a month.

08/04/02- 10:30AM
Working my tail off on the new music!

08/02/02- 9:30PM
Happy five months bonita!

07/30/02- 9:30PM
Redesigned the FOR ANA page. The next two days I will be recording the main tracks for this project.

07/23/02- 12:30PM
Watched Crocodile Hunter with the novia. Believe it or not, that movie was extremely educational and very tolerable for "us" men. Sure beats flicks like A Walk to Remember or Steel Magnolias!

07/17/02- 12:30PM
Another practice session for my second collection of music.

07/16/02- 9:20AM
Uploaded a sample of things to come on the guitar page.

07/15/02- 11:20AM
Created a progress report page for my new guitar project. It can be accessed here.

07/14/02- 11:00AM
Some people might think I have gone mad, yet my latest guitar project, which was scheduled release in August has been delayed until further notice. Instead, I will be focusing on a new project for my novia which is explained on the guitar page.

07/11/02- 8:30PM
Updated a the picture page for a memorial for my friend Dena. We will miss you girl!

07/07/02- 7:30PM
Two weeks have gone by and where have I been? Well, according to my girlfriend, I have been having a "life!" Yet, the two weeks absence from the net has been a very positive one for myself. I have been taking a break from my recent creative outpourings and spent the past two weekends with my friends and family. Luckily, with the time away from the projects will give me a new creative drive to complete the scores of art works I have planned for the rest of the summer. A special thanks to Celi for allowing me to attend her wedding, it was the most exciting wedding I have been to all year, I should know, we have been to four so far this year. A very special thanks to my girlfriend Ana for putting up with me now for four months and great thanks to all my friends, online or not, that have increased my quality of life to a new pinnacle that has been unmatched in recent months. This week, I will complete two things, one pertaining to fitness and the other is a yet another special surprise for my novia.

06/20/02- 7:30PM
Updated the guitar pages to the new standard. Only if I had the time to compose new music?

06/19/02- 3:30PM
I am on a roll here, because I have updated all the term papers from the writings page to the new 800x600 format complete with new tables and pull down menu.

06/18/02- 9:30AM
Even more revisions of old pages not touched since their inception into this site in 1997!

06/17/02- 10:30PM
Updates abound on my web site. Too numerous to mention, yet just about half of the pages has had some form of minor cosmetic updates. I even throw in a new picture of myself on my introduction page and did a general all around update to this entire site.

06/16/02- 10:30AM
More pictures of our dates on the pictures page. Finally I have acquired a picture of Ana and myself taken from her cousin's college graduation party.

06/14/0
2- 10:00AM
I was too busy at the gym yesterday pursuing my own fitness goals and failed to update this site, ouch! Yet, this morning I finally put the past updates on a separate page. Also, a trip down memory lane via Jerry Giles' party pictures. This page has finally been updated to the new html standard.

06/12/02- 10:00PM
After advice and comments from Ana, I have revised all the fitness pages and included a personal journal. With a lot of work ahead of me yet still, I will continue to attempt to create a compelling, informative site accessible to the fitness newbies and excelled pros alike free of charge.

06/11/02- 7:00PM
The treadmill page has a long overdue face-lift. Too bad it took me six months to figure that out!

06/11/02- 9:30AM
Updating the fitness site today, this month is fitness month on the web site.

06/09/0
2- 5:30PM
Almost a month without updates, yet a lot has happened in recent days. As I gather my life together after several disappointments, setbacks, delays, work, gym and countless other things that vex an artist; this summer has already been one of my most creative ones in recent years. Stay tuned as I update this week with all new art, writings, works, and other various art projects including an expanded Fitness page for my friend Xavier. Thanks Eddie for complaining about the lack of updates.

05/14/02- 10:30PM
Back to the multiple updates in one day, my girlfriend gave me several pictures for the world to see of some of our dates. Had to upload them before she changed her mind. Click here to access the pictures. What the hell, also added some new pictures of myself on the pictures page! Warning: very grainy pictures taken from my crappy web cam.

05/14/02- 12:30AM
Begin the new sessions for my second album. This time around, I am surrounded by effect units and software, no uploads as of date, but its only a matter of time before something gets uploaded. Also, I have used the new format, reminiscent of the resolutions page, for the past updates.

05/12/02- 10:30PM
As soon as school is completed, I always start with the site redesign and enhancements and this summer is no exception. Yet, this summer's major project will be an entire album of new music. As the new music takes shape, I will create a new site to separate the old guitar works as I begin my second album of guitar music. But, I decided first to create a cosmetic update to my classical page. The new design has a more cleaner look as I had removed the overdone gradients and included a more eye pleasing left bar.

05/10/02- 10:30PM
This vato graduates with another associates degree, this time from North Harris Community College. A thousand thanks to the surprise cake at work and my family for attending another graduation ceremony. This time around, I have an associates of the Arts. The other degree is an applied science degree in the field of computer animation.

05/09/02- 2:00PM
4 Miles in 28 Minutes. Yes, this vato at age 25 can still outperform those young, fresh teenagers when it comes to fitness and cardiovascular training. This is just a reminder that anyone, regardless of ability, can achieve any fitness goal with the proper mindset and discipline. Hell, when I was a boy I did a mile in like 12 minutes?

05/04/02- MIDNIGHT
Thanks to my novia for the wonderful evening, Red Onion anyone? Happy birthday to my god son Matthew!

05/03/02- MIDNIGHT
Thanks Sindcate for the ballet tickets, it was like old times. What tux?

05/01/02- 10:00PM
Sorry for the lack of updates, but my friend Sindcate told me to stop the updates while he moves this site, and all the others on the thatsstupid.net, to another server. So, I am back with an update on my girlfriend's request. Last night, for the first time we attempted a "normal" date. Being unable to decide on which movie, I had wanted Jason X or Scorpion King and she wanted chick flicks, we settled on "Van Wilder." Either we are officially old, or that movie just plain sucked! Its not even worth a rental fee when it hits tape, but wait for cable, maybe a few scenes might entertain the viewer? And in other news, yes, I admit it to the world, I locked my keys in the truck! Thank God my novia has Triple A!

04/19/02- Midnight
Parents approve, as if there were any doubts? Phew, it is over!

04/18/02- 10:30PM
Damn, alert the media! I went to my practice graduation from North Harris Community college. Tomorrow, is another special day!

04/16/02- 7:30AM
WWF Smackdown came to Houston, Texas. Yours truly had some very nice seats! I conquered the infamous Aranda's Super California burrito. Also, I managed to update my old resolutions page. It now had a more eye-friendly design. Thank you to my sole inspiration for helping me, indeed, make 2002 the year of the arts.

04/15/02- 7:30AM
Visited my brother's company beach house on Sunday. Its amazing how the little things matter. Happy Birthday to you! Just one year behind me!

04/13/02- 8:30AM
She Loved it! As for an encore to my latest project, I will resume my second collection of music available this summer. Also, after maintenance on my computer, I have found my first serious recording of guitar work entitled "New Beginning" composed around summer of 1998.

04/10/02- 7:30AM
Her present is back early, and it is simply the most beautiful thing I have ever composed! Words cannot express the joy I have felt in undertaking such a task. I am just announcing to the world and recording on this site the day I have finally received my creation in my hands. For those inclined to hint, as always, throw emails at djasso@prodigy.net.

04/08/02- 6:30AM
Today is the day, my girlfriend's birthday present is being sent for processing! The reason I am announcing this is for two reasons.

1. This project is of a rare beauty. I have never before made anything so gorgeous.
2. Hopefully, in the distant future I am sure, she will let me release this for the public to see. Yet, I do not expect that anytime soon.

And one last comment, thanks Ronak for noticing the site's lack of updates and giving me the drive to resume them.

04/07/02- 10:00PM
Back from camping. Learning my lesson from last year, being the extreme heat, this time around the campsite was very cold and rainy! Once again, no pictures Damnit! Maybe I will scan those pictures my girlfriend took of the ducks and the lake?

04/05/02- Midnight
Happy Birthday Dena! Unfortunately no pictures were taken, but I thought I would comment that tonight was another infamous party. Damn you brother!

04/04/02- 6:30AM
Marks one month of bliss.

03/30/02- Midnight
Saw David Fincher's "Panic Room." Being my novia called in the middle of it, I cannot give a detailed review. If you are fond lover of cinematography and the director, the movie is highly recommended. Yet, personally I was disappointed by the lack of an in-depth plot. "Panic Room" is just that, a movie about criminals invading a house and the steps to remove to them. Call it David Fincher's "Home Alone!"

03/24/02- 9:30PM
On month since my last update. This site has always been an online dairy of sorts, yet I refuse to reflect on my absence for surely my closest friends all know where I have been. I can only say "thank you" to the one that redirected my efforts and has become my sole inspiration. Expect more frequent updates, however, for that we are only young once, and a life wasted in obscurity is a "wasted youth."

02/21/02- 8:30PM
Added those wedding pictures. Click here to access them. Also, added a link to this new page on the pictures page.

02/21/02- 1:30PM
Moved my weekly jam sessions to the thatsstupid.net server. Geocities has denied me access to store the files there. "The jig is up!"
Click here to download my latest guitar music file.

02/21/02- NOON
Although this page has been an online dairy now for over three years, it was not my intention to update this site without new content. Yet, I have been very busy with my 100 mile challenge, a new vehicle that does not work, and several other social events that have taken away the time used to update this site. Stay tuned for pictures from my friend Jerry Giles wedding, more party pics, and other updates.

02/12/02- 11PM
Waiting for my friends to give me their Mardi Gras pictures for the web site. Last year, they were certainly a hit. This year should be better with more pics and even video in the future.
Added a link to Last year's pictures from Emmanuel Robles on the featuring table on the left.

02/05/02- 11PM
Oh, damn! It has been five days since my last update? Here is some new music taken from the guitar page. Check it out for my latest announcement and my commit for new music.

02/05/02- 11PM
Updated the Me page. It now has a current picture, instead the old Wrestlemania 17. Also removed the Hemingway, existential commentary.

02/05/02- 5PM
Added a separate page for the guitar videos released last week.

02/05/02- 5AM
A minor cosmetic update to the color scheme of the classical page. Thanks Heather for the advice!

02/04/02- 2PM
Updated, every a long hiatus, the classical page. These pages sport a radical new redesign. Let me know if the colors are too wild? Unfortunately, its going to take months to add my entire collection online. Please, be patient.

02/04/02- NOON
Updated the Geddy Lee review. It now has the same format as the Jeff Beck review.

02/01/02- 11PM

Added another video to the Royal Rumble page. This time, the video's have sound. The random mug shot is currently still without sound. Fixed an error on the picture page.

01/30/02- 3PM
Recorded another video for the guitar page. Still unsure when I am going to release it because the content is very fragmentary. This time, I play a variation of an unreleased tune that was supposed to be my "Oriental III."

01/29/02- 11PM
The new videos are here! An electric rendition of my newest works are finally online. Unfortunately, these files require real player to listen. Being that, mpeg files are HUGE! Click here for the guitar page to download.

01/29/02- 4PM
Recorded another video for the guitar page. Only if I had the cables to capture the audio, damn it Jose! Just Kidding! This time, its an impromptu of an old tune called "Second" and an another rendition of my Suite number I, electric style.

01/29/02- 6:40PM
Something compelled me to update my old review of Jeff Beck's latest compact disc. Made the page more table friendly.

01/29/02- 10:40PM
Someone needs to get a life here? Three updates in one day? This time its an over haul of the entire sketches page. That page was never done to my satisfaction, still needs some work on the main page, but its a start in the right direction. Updated all the picture pages. Added the gradient background and other minor cosmetic adjustments. Now its time for bed!

01/28/02- 1PM
Updated the guitar page. Recorded two impromptu sessions on video camera. Something that I have been wanting to do for years now! Hopefully, by the end of the week it will be available online.

Be warned:
"Being that it was a jam or impromptu is a better word for it, expect mistakes, me tuning while playing, etc. Despite the technical difficulties and other errors, it gives the listener a preview of my next album and a progression of my style."

01/22/02- 6PM
Added a more suitable html page for the latest party pictures and videos. Added spiffy new gradient to background of selected pages. Also, I updated the pictures page as another route to this funny additions.

01/22/02- NOON
Fixed some annoying font errors on the guitar page. Hopefully, some progress report will happen by the end of the week. As well as a turn of plans and an announcement of a release date of my first album worth of music. Also added user-friendly drop down menu for the previous updates.

01/21/02- MIDNIGHT
Check out some pictures and real player streams of my friends and myself at a Royal Rumble party. Too bad we were having too much fun goofing off together rather than watching the pay per view.

01/14/02- MIDNIGHT
My next project is announced on the guitar page. A lot of people that have loved my latest batch of experiments are going to be disappointed!

01/13/02- 11:00 pm

XP= Expect Problems
A quote from my friend Saul
!

This new computer has vexed me with bugs, problems, driver conflicts, loss of sleep, indecision, doubts, social times, dates, and the cause of these numerous problems lie in the OS of choice, Windows XP. Being that this OS was a gift from my friend Jerry, I thought I would give it a whirl. Yet, despite the bitter taste of lite-beer, I mean a wanna-be Macintosh OS, left in my mouth when using it, I have accepted it. Regardless, whether I like it or not, this new OS will be the format of choice for Microsoft. Its not a totally bad OS, its just that my software and hardware have been a real nightmare to get working on this machine. Hence, my planned ambitions for this site were derailed last week in an effort to get my machine tailored for web editing, future art works, music, etc. In other words:

"Yes, Microsoft, I will spread my ass cheeks wide, bend over, and await the inevitable! Please be gentle, it already hurts from Windows Me!
"

01/07/02- 11:00 PM
Keeping in step with my resolutions, I have released an updated page on fitness. This page is very informative on those that currently or are thinking of using a treadmill. This whole week, in honor of resolutions, will be dedicated to fitness news, facts, and answers to any fitness questions. Click here for the site.

01/06/02- 11:00 PM
Being a bit late on the declaration of a resolution, I figured the news better get out before I changed my mind. For years, resolution after resolution, with the combination of lent, has gradually increased my awareness of self-evaulation and change. l MORE l

01/03/02- Midnight
Where did the month of December go? "Time is life's greatest editor," and only I shall remember the events of this month. Being that this site has always been an online dairy of sorts, I will continue to keep the veiled symbolism. In one month, I have rekindled friendships, made new friends, lost a few, conquered several flaws, especially alcohol, learned self appreciation, and all around an acceptance of who I am and what I do. Click here for pictures of New years.

12/06/01- 7:35 AM

Added a page on Beethoven. The first page in a planned series of pages chronicling my entire collection. I will add a page a day, till my whole cd collection of classical music is online. Tonight should be Brahms. Also added the new classical links on the top pull down menus.

Almost said, "Screw it, I'm starting over with this damn main page." But after messing around with a new color scheme, inspired from my reading of "Fauvism,"
is a complete overhaul of the classical page.

Finally, after months of talking about it, I made some pulldown buttons that work. Although still experimental, especially the color scheme, I feel this latest addition of expanding my programming knowledge can only further this web site. Please be patient with the changes, which will be numerous and time-consuming, for it can only get better!
