10/10/00-

I thought an update was due. I have been up to my elbows in college work, yet with a sensible approach towards budgeting time. Hence, the grades are strong and I'm not fretting like a chicken with my head cut off. Motivation these days is fitness. On "04/23/00- THIS VATO DID IT!" In reality this vato has done it twice over. Now I weigh a thin 154. A stark contast to my previous 170 effort. I won't harp on the aspects to my success for that is entirely too long a subject; suitable for maybe a future web page! Hint, I run 45 minutes six times a week. For a total of 27 miles a week. HA! If I ever manage to release my updated new and improved one that has been rotting on the hard drive for the pursuit of grades, alcohol, and women. I new picture of myself shall be uploaded soon. Cd recommendations are Mahler's fourth, fifth, and Jeff Beck's new studio recording in the end of November. As for new guitar music, the mixer is in the trash can, the tapes are useless, and the guitar has dust on the strings. In other words, wait till christmas break and maybe I'll have a lil present for those that are interested.

08/20/00-
A lack of updates? Why? Uh oh, you asked! First off the mixer mysteriously dies. Which means no new music or out takes for that matter. The mixer utilized both sides of a tape and thus plays back weird in a normal machine.
Then my monitor died because one of the pins are bent. Since my monitor is "southern engineered" it would be quite costly to tear apart the monitor to get another cable.
Which in effect hurts my new web site because the resolution this "loaned" monitor (thanks jerr) displays only 640x480.
When it rains it pours. The music keyboard also died for two months before I got around to realizing it was a power supply problem.
Then (not finished yet) the piece of sh!t car died. It needed 700 dollars worth of work and still has no A/C! I needed a new crutch and two gears in the transmission needed to be replaced. Phew, I feel much better now.

04/23/00- THIS VATO DID IT!
Amazingly I conquered no meat for six weeks. No beef, no chicken, no pork, nada! Some interesting facts I have to share with those that want to be a vegetarian. Since December way back then I was porking it at 195. After lent I weigh 170. Damn, no meat makes you loose weight? Bad things also go with being a vegetarian. If you don't like salads you are basically screwed. That was me, I hate and still do hate salads. Its nothing personal, but its just not my thing. Fruit has been the life saver for me, without it I can't imagine? A treat for me was a cheese pizza. Its not hard to be a herbivore but the social aspects hinder it. Another thing is that your resistance goes down. I got sick twice in a month during this flu season. So, whets you next move, Damon? I ate meat today and my stomach handled it fine ( I was worried). A smile on my face was immediate as I ate my brother Zach's barbecue. I will continue to mix no meat and meat days. I really missed the protein meat offered easily. I am eating meat for my health purposes as it helps you get further in the gym. Also, lets be frank about it. I had a "big mac" attack.

04/16/00- Today is Palm Sunday! Just one more week of eating fruit salads and peanut butter and banana sandwiches! This Easter I will be at the park drinking corona and eating steak! Doing the old Latino tradition!

04/13/00- College is a bear laterly. Been so busy with BIO II. Everyone know's how much I love biology, not! Other classes are going fine! Word for the wise, biology and art majors don't mix. Reminds me of something like oil and water? What's the beef with biology, Damon? It is a fascinating subject, but what's the deal with learning all that freaking latin? I should of took astromony instead? Better off trying to pick up chicas at the musuem than dissecting frogs?

03/15/00- This vato is currently doing "Lent". Last year I gave up alcohol for an incredible 6 weeks! Following that accomplishment with another major test of faith- NO MEAT! Talk about a test of faith. I am confident that it can be accomplished! I know people that do it for a lifetime. So why not do without for a mere six weeks? Upon announcing I had given up meat for six weeks a coworker told me,"Without meat they would die?" I told her,"Thanks for the encouragement?" In an effort to battle alcohol again, I gave up beer alongside with meat. Which means this vato has nothing to life for! JK

03/09/00- This vato enters spring break! Expect the new redesign very soon! Yes, chicken again!

02/24/00- Remember 06/09/99 I complained about an unknown cd called "Supernatural" by Carlos Santanna? That little cd won 8 grammies last night tieing it with the most ever won with Micheal Jackson. Am I going to apoligize about slamming an obvouisly celebrated album worthy of anyone's library? HELL NO! This just goes to show you my point of what was said in June. "If you can't play an instrument, you can't judge music". This time I will sleep peacefully knowing that I mean it. This vato hangs his head low as he listens to his Brahms instead. Or a real guitar player like Jeff Beck. One that can make modern music without selling out. If you think you are a "real" Santanna fan, what other cd's do you like? Do not say his hits? Try Zebop! or the first three cds. What is the difference? He is on fire!

02/16/00- I have a personal quote. A lot of people out there are quick to jump on the latest technology for "FAD"sake. I have an answer to those that argue old computers don't cut it anymore. Relating to this because the computer that made this web site is a 166 MHZ MMX with 64 megs of parity ram. Here it goes:

" A computer is like a pizza, its only as good as what's on it!"

Many a time, I see people with the latest bad asz computers that are paper wieghts. The people using them don't have the time or concern to learn the power of what is in front of them. Even with the latest and fastest processor, people still lack one thing; SOFTWARE! So what, if your pizza is fresher than mine? It doesn't taste any better. Actually it tastes worse, there is nothing on it. My pizza as old as it is, has the works on it!

02/14/00- Happy Valentine's Day!

02/12/00- This vato is very much alive. After several complaints on why I haven't updated the coolio web site, the silence should be explained. It has been a very hard six months. Not to get personal but school, the opposite sex (several of them), car dying, work, my music, and just about a million other excuses all attributed to me not updating this sucka. Since about late August last year if you recall, I was planning to redo the whole web site with all new HTML code, graphics, new additions, and all the works. Well luck has it I have been working on it now here and there, and its now February and its still not done. Instead of letting this site go, a progress was due. Okay Damon, cut the bullsh!t what do you have for us? Here are several new editions that I was planning to be a surpise in my next big update. Also, a promise the month of February will bring to the web site a new pic (been on a mondo diet), some long over due guitar music clips, the selected editorial journals on life and reflections, and some more classical cd reviews and composer bios.

"Cathedral" From Robert's Perspective

Damon's Crap Drawings

A Day in the Life of Damon

Future Adventures in Candy Bar man

Pimp Car

Summary to Above Links

Cathedral was written by Raymond Carver. For my English II project, I had to take another character's point of view. This is my first serious attempt at writing for some time.

The name says it all. I took my drawing from my college fall semester 98. I have painstakingly colored in a few drawings that were originally nothing more than sketches on the notebook paper. The kind of crap that you draw in class when you bored.

The day in the life of Damon was a drawing that everybody says is an autobiographical account of my life?

Future adventures of Candy Bar man people better view before good taste tells me to pull it off. It is total tasteless humor and uninsightful. I might pull this one so enojy it while you can.

So many people complained that I didn't include a link to the pimp car. Well two cars later, I have included back as for the new visitors to see what everybody been asking about.

09/12/99- I have a new page. Its my biology notes? Why in the world would I put notes on the web? Ever heard of making something boring interesting? I hate, no I loathe biology! I don't give a damn about cells and lipids? I love web pages and the joy of creating them? Wait a second, why not combine the two? I could study the notes by explaining the theories online? CLEVER IDEA DAMON!

Damon's biology notes

01/17/00- Its the bad sequel! I am back at college for another 13 credit hours! See Damon take Biology II (the evil sequel), English II (not bad), Math (let's not go there), and Psychology. This time around I am going to North Harris more than Parkway.

MWF- Bio II 7:30-10:20 and English II 11:15-12:10

TTH- Psychology 10:30-11:45 and Math 12:30-2:20 (YUCK)
